Centrul Judetean de Excelenta is a school for gifted students from Galati, Romania. Our institution proposes an attractive educational offer which combines students and parents’ options with community’s professional needs. We educate our students according to the democratic principles of the open society.

Our teachers, who are highly trained professionals and willing to take part in permanent education programs, help students develop the spirit of active citizenship, promote plurilingualism and intercultural diversity.

Open-mindedness, faith and promotion of true values, tolerance and altruism, flexibility and adaptability of our students will only ensure the progress of both local community and Romanian and European society. We educate 400 students from 10 to 18 years old, specially selected as being able of high performance in different subjects as: Foreign Languages, Computer Science, Natural Science, Mathematics, Physics, History, Geography, Academic Debates, Robotics, Linguistics, Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Role in the EcoMystery project


Centrul Judetean de Excelență Galați serves as the consortium’s civic-engagement anchor. It drafts the project-wide Citizen Participation Strategy, embedding community involvement and stakeholder feedback across all activities. In WP2 it authors the “Fostering Civic Engagement & Action” teacher-training module, while in WP3 it leads the “Community Action for a Clean Future” coursework and supports the hands-on elements of modules 7, 8 and 9 (“Escape Climate Crisis Case Studies,” “Physical Climate Escape Rooms,” and “Activities on the EcoMystery Platform”).
